Design Story
The inspiration for the XR 1200™ came from the XR750 - no question. "You could say the XR 1200™ was born in Milwaukee but bred in Europe. Our U.S. product development team worked so closely with our European Product Planning team it was hard to say where one ended and the other began." Bill Davidson, Head of Product Planning, XR1200.
The Racing Line
This is flat track racing, one of the grittiest forms of two-wheeled racing on the planet. Bikes and riders drift and draft around the oval dirt track at over 125mph, and only millimeters apart. Not just wheel to wheel but elbow to elbow. It's a sport as raw and powerful as the machines that take part.
