Oxford (06.10.09) The fastest man on two wheels will visit a local motorcycle dealership this weekend. Stratstone Harley-Davidson will welcome seven times AMA Grand National Champion Chris Carr on Saturday 10 October at 1.30pm. This gives London's motorcycle enthusiasts a unique opportunity to meet the man who holds the 2009 Land Speed World Record of 367.382mph, and is one of the most successful racers in flat track history.
Between 2001 and 2005, the Californian racer won every AMA Grand National championship, including the 50th anniversary season of the championship in 2004, and took second place on the AMA Grand National all-time wins list. He rode for Harley-Davidson as a factory rider for much of his early career aboard an XR750 - the inspiration for the XR1200™. Today, Chris continues to race and run his own racing team, and lives with his wife and sons in Pennsylvania.
“It's a real honour to welcome Chris to our dealership,” says Stratstone Harley-Davidson Dealer Principal Martin McIlwaine. “We are delighted to offer our customers this fantastic opportunity to get photographs and autographs from a true Harley-Davidson racing legend.”
The Chingford dealership has also recently announced that it will take part in the Harley-Davidson® XR1200™ Trophy at the 2010 British Superbike Championship. The replica race bike will be on display in the showroom this weekend.
